Strategic spatial planning-translating chess into architecture.
Academic thesis documentation exploring the translation of chess spatial logic into architectural organisation, massing, and public space design. Available via Zenodo.
Architectural practice and research into responsive building envelopes and resilient built environments.
Architect | M.Arch | Emerging Architectural Researcher
I am a Licenced architect with a developing research focus on adaptive building envelopes, climate-responsive design, and multi-hazard resilience. My work explores how architectural design, responsive building systems, and computational methods can contribute to safer, more adaptable, and resilient built environments.
Through professional practice, academic projects, and independent research development, I seek to bridge architectural design and research into building resilience.
Read MoreChess strategy translated into architectural massing, circulation, and spatial hierarchy – a thesis exploring game theory and built form.
Urban-scale planning study examining the morphological evolution of Coimbatore and proposing integrated transport systems.
Contemporary Goan residence drawing on Indo-Portuguese traditions – terracotta roofs, deep verandahs, laterite stone, and timber detailing.
Adaptive organic market and circular food infrastructure for the Tamil Nadu Horticulture Department, integrating landscape and sustainability.
My research interest focuses on exploring how adaptive architectural systems can contribute to more resilient built environments. I am particularly interested in the potential of responsive building envelopes to address challenges associated with extreme external hazards.
Through my proposed doctoral research, I aim to explore the intersection of architectural design, adaptive systems and resilience, investigating new possibilities for integrating responsive protective strategies into contemporary buildings.
My broader goal is to contribute to architectural approaches that move beyond conventional design responses towards more adaptive and resilient built environments.
Proposed doctoral research under development.
Academic thesis documentation exploring the translation of chess spatial logic into architectural organisation, massing, and public space design. Available via Zenodo.
The thesis investigates how the spatial logic of chess – piece hierarchy, movement rules, territorial control, and strategic adjacency – can be translated into architectural organisation and public space design.
Proposed doctoral research exploring how adaptive building envelope systems can contribute to multi-hazard resilience in the built environment. Research under development – no findings or publications yet.
